Survivor of the Holocaust, Nobel laureate, writer and human rights activist Elie Wiesel was born in Sighet. When he was 15 years old, he and his family were deported to the death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. In April 1945, Buchenwald was liberated by the Allies from America and Elie was released. About his experience, he has told in internationally acclaimed memoirs “Night,” published in 1958. Since 1976, Elie Wiesel was a professor of humanities from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation at Boston University (United States). After the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986, Professor Wiesel and his wife Marion established the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity. The Holocaust Foundation is fighting with indifference, intolerance and injustice. Professor Wiesel, as a Messenger of Peace, in 1988 has received numerous awards for his literary and advocacy works. Nowadays people call him an American dad.
After reading the article The America I love written by Elie Wiesel, you realize that this man has passed a very difficult life. After experiencing the following repression and beating, seeing as your family dies, he remained a conscious man. We can not realize how this man loves America. He tells in detail about troops during the liberation of imprisoned people. These people shed tears from the picture in Buchenwald (Wiesel 300). So, after such experience, the author imbued with history of this majestic country. Not surprisingly that in all the interviews, he always talk about America. However, he sees also the negative aspects of the history of this country, about which he has repeatedly stated in his reports. To the negative factors he includes repression, contempt for people with black skin, humiliation of Jews, oppression of sexual minorities and others. Of course, these things are almost in the past, but in a modern world appear supporters of these views, which are rapidly spreading evil not only in America, but also in European countries. People need to fight with it. However, there is a simple question about immigration and living them in such countries. Having read the history, the laws of America as a nation we can imagine that Americans like their country and citizens. Unfortunately, they do not like illegal immigrants from other countries. Wiesel fights for peace throughout the world all the time. In a recent interview, the author said: “Human beings can be beautiful or more beautiful, they can be fat or skinny, right or wrong, but illegal? How can a human being be illegal?” Based on his views on the situation, he supports illegal people who want to come from other countries and live in America. However, is it correct?
Is it a big problem to give some work places for aliens? In reality, America is a powerful, technologically developed country, whose population exceeds 315 million people. It is not very friendly from the mighty state, but let’s us look at the problem from the real point. With all love to America, the opinion about all immigrants in USA of Nobel Prize winner Elie Wiesel, I share at 50%. I see it as an unrealistic plan in a modern world because it is wrong to have free borders. I think that not all immigrants are peaceful and friendly, helpful and necessary in the country. Immigrating to America should be allowed only to the trustworthy people. This will help to keep the peace and turn of affairs in the country. Many people who are seeking a better life, leaving their homes and trying to go to America. Nowadays it does not make that easy because you need legal permission to enter the country. People are trying to win a green card, falsify the documents, running across borders and illegally married. This list could go on for a long time. Only because of those, who do such wrongful acts suffered all the state. Because of such people state becomes poorer. All that love and care which received Wieser from Americans can be regarded as his personal experience. That influenced on his views. In view of the modern world and the younger generation, I begin to realize that we have very different views and opinions. The youth becomes evil and unjust. We can not allow the situation developed further. Legalization is perceived by many Americans as rewarding those who break the law, as an incentive for new illegal immigrants.
On the other hand, law should not simply deport illegal residents, but also help them to obtain legal access to the country. Why do not try to give this opportunity for those people who can prove that they will make a significant contribution to the development of America? Wiesel says that America is loyal to the nation that fights for justice and helps many countries. So, maybe someday Americans will be more loyal to immigrants in their country. Unfortunately, now this idea is not so popular among Americans. Most Americans oppose the legalization of about 11 million migrants in the United States illegally. After all, if people are leaving it to that country, they consider it better. Is it bad to adopt a person, who loves your country? Probably, it is better to trust people and open country borders for new opportunities. Here, I share Wiesel’s opinion about life in America. It is quite correct for immigrants. If they have the opportunity to live and work in a foreign country, they need not only love and appreciate it but also know its history.
